I hope you don’t mind me posting 2 slideshows in a row, but I just had to show-and-tell you this: on November 15, H & M will debut a fabulous collection that’s a collaboration with the amazing Martin Margiela! Here’s one of my personal favorites:

Maison Martin Margiela for H & M dress, from the collaborative collection available beginning November 15. Love the peek of leg! (Click on the picture to go to the slideshow.)
Margiela is an avant-garde Belgian designer whose background includes working with Jean-Paul Gaultier and a stint as creative director for the Hermes women’s line. He’s known for his decontructionist techniques, as well as for incorporating such diverse materials as wigs and canvases into his couture line. His line, Maison Martin Margiela, is currently shown in Paris.
I’m hoping that, come November 15, there won’t be a repeat of last year’s Target debacle, when so many shoppers stormed the Target website to snap up the Missoni collection that it actually shut down the site for several hours! And I heard later from a Target retail-store employee that the collection was virtually sold out within the first hour and a half. Great news for the retailers! I’ve never been the type to camp out to be one of the first in line for, well, anything, but this red dress just might get me to change my mind.
P.S. No word yet on what these extraordinary pieces will sell for, but… it’s H & M, so we can count on reasonable prices!
